Trends in environment technology and renewable energies.

The disposal of waste materials such as polymers, oils, tars, PCB oils and all residue containing combustible substances causes major problems. A method that produces or regenerate valuable substances for our energy cycle must always be preferred to incineration, because at the same time it reduces carbon dioxide pollution in the atmosphere. Our actions are not only guided by legislation, however, our own understanding of the value of limited primary energy carriers demands the increased use of methods which make the rational use of energy possible. Particularly beneficial are highly efficient methods in terms of energy which lead to transformation to valuable substances. In the case of fractionised depolymerization this takes place through thermal treatment at a low level, of the incoming substances between 80% and 95% are transformed into the product diesel or heating oil. The German Energy Law provides no tax incentives for methods which use innovative techniques. For the Clyvia products the full tax has to be paid.

 


Prospects for growth

Due to new legislation, plastic and used oil may no longer be landfilled after May 1, 2005. In Germany alone, around 4 million tonnes of such plastic waste are produced every year, as well as 450,000 tonnes of used oil. In small to medium-sized decentralised plants, this waste can be utilized, offering the opportunity for development of the optimum system for the respective application purpose.

 


Market potential

Plants will cost several million euros. At least 500 such plants are required in Germany alone at present. On the basis of the specific waste quantities, the global potential can be estimated as at least 10,000 plants.

 


Competitive advantage

This is a new technology without known competitive models at the moment. After the prototype plant has been put into operation, Clyvia will be in a position to test different customer batches at short notice, making Clyvia much more flexible than potential competitors. Clyvia's unique position is optimally secured by two patents present in test procedure. The patents are expected to be obtained during the course of the year.

 

Current status: Protective rights of Clyvia

In the past, doubts about the protective rights held by Clyvia Technologie GmbH have been repetitively expressed in relevant investor forums. In order to oppose them, we have composed a current status of all (claimed or acquired) protective rights at this point:

 

On March 2, 2005, the Clyvia Technologie GmbH claimed a patent at the German Patent and Trade Agency (DPMA) under the number 10 2005 010 151.8, which claims a „process for the catalytic depolymerization of hydrocarbon residuals as well as a device for conducting this process“. Since then, this technology developed by us owns worldwide priority protection.

 

As early as on May 20, 2005, the DPMA has finalized the first scrutiny of the contents by publishing a research report. This first step was finalized without any objections, as the patent agency has not found any obstacles to protective rights in the literature of the technical state.

 

On 14/9/2006, the patent office granted the patent under No 102005010151. Preparations are made for the worldwide reclaim (PCT patent claim) at the European patent office. Meanwhile, the process has been optimized by a second patent claim at the German patent office.

 

Due to intensive development of the process, the Clyvia Technologie GmbH has acquired know-how, which leads to the claim of another patent. The application for patent is registered under the number 102007031461.
